Are your sinuses making it tough to wear glasses!? We’ve all been there, your sinuses are on fire and those glasses are heavy and pressing right where it’s burning. Sinus pressure is no joke, and sometimes it’s hard to tell if that pressure is coming from your eyes, or the sinuses that surround our eye. More often than not, it is coming from the sinuses around your eye. It is rare to actually feel pressure that is stemming from the eye itself.
No matter the cause, it can make wearing anything on that already sensitive area feel almost impossible. If your glasses are digging into your nose, or feel like they are making an already crummy situation worse, look no further. We would love to help you update to a lighter and more comfortable frame... say a lovely MODO frame for example?! OR sometimes just a simple tune and adjustment of your current frame can help take some of that pressure off your face!
Chances are if you’re struggling from sinus pressure, you may also be struggling with dryness to the surface of your eyes. Several medications used for sinus issues can actually make dry eyes worse. While it’s great when they dry your sinuses up, it’s not so great when they also dry your eyes out!
You may need some additional dry eye treatment during this time when you’re taking sinus medication. Either way, if you’re struggling with sensitivity to the weight of your glasses, or problems with some seasonal dryness… head over to Eye Care Center in College Station and let us help you! It’s 2018 peeps, no need to suffer from uncomfortable frames or struggle with seasonal dryness!

WARNING: These Comments are real and may be disturbing to some viewers.
“I don’t usually wear contact lenses, and these are costume, so I don’t need to get them from an eye doctor or get my eyes checked.”
“I once got contact lenses from a gas station in Louisiana.”
“I mean, really, between you and me, wearing these costume on-line contacts just for a few hours, is ok, right…. between you and me?!?”
AHHHHH!!!! These comments scare me more than the thought of Michael Meyers popping out of my closet. Ok, that kind of scares me, too… BUT, the thought of that keeps me up less at night than the thought of people using and wearing poor quality contact lenses. Why, you ask?!
Contact lenses are a medical device.
All contact lenses have to allow a certain amount of oxygen to prevent the cornea from swelling and developing new vessel growth that can cause permanent scarring and affect vision. Even wearing these for a few hours, heaven forbid sleeping in them, can cause serious problems.
We haven’t even touched on the little microbes that could be lurking on the lens, in the solution, or even on your eye, that now the non-breathable contact lens traps on the surface of your eye for HOURS! Even if your hands are clean, a splash of tap water could be enough to contaminate the lenses. Some of these little microbial boogers are like real life zombies – they spread fast, are hard to kill, and seem to come back from the dead.
Think twice before purchasing “costume” contact lenses from a non medical retailer... gas stations included!!!
Just because you're a monster for Halloween, doesn't mean your eyes have to look like it the next day!
