Now that we have a better understanding of why eye misalignment can cause eye strain, headaches and neck strain, let’s talk a little more about what we can do to correct for this misalignment.
We can use corrective prism, incorporated into your eyeglass prescription, to shift what you see to where your eyes most comfortably are aligned. Here’s where things get really exciting. Standard prism can only shift what we see the same amount throughout the whole lens, regardless of whether we are looking at something far away or something up close. NeuroLens is the first lens that has contoured prism, allowing us to increase the amount of prism for near work to compensate for the increased demand we face with near tasks.

This contoured prism allows the NeuroLens to reduce eye strain and the constant over-stimulation of our trigeminal nerve that would otherwise have to correct for this misalignment. If you have symptoms of trigeminal overstimulation, such as headache, neck ache, eye strain, eye fatigue, or dry eye, call Eye Care Center and ask about Neuro Lens!
